So, after my first Shiro order, I knew I’d be back for more. I needed more intertubes, especially since they were being discontinued. I tried so hard to resist. And I did a good job of it… for a couple of weeks.
And then, I caved.
The good news is, I only got a few things this time, so it wasn’t too expensive. The bad news is… well, I haven’t found any yet, so that’s more good news!
I got three new intertubes (over 9000 was previewed here) and some sample sizes. I have a hard time committing to buying the full size shadows when A. I got through them so slowly and B. there are a million colors to try – how do you choose?!
- Over 9000 intertube
- Rickrolled intertube
- Forty Cakes intertube
I also got:
- The Truth by Shiro
- Housewife by Shiro
- Bog Body by Detrivore
- Ossuary by Detrivore
- Porcelain by Detrivore
- Chimera by Shiro (free sample)
- Hodor by Shiro (free sample)
The Truth is white with a slight pink shift. Very lovely, and very usable.
When I was taking my notes on these swatches, next to the word “Housewife,” I wrote, “Love.” So, there you have it. That’s how I feel. It’s a pewter with a taupe-y purple undertone. And I couldn’t really tell, but it seemed to have a soft shift, or maybe that was my eyes. It definitely has pink sparkles hidden in there. Regardless, this color is more complex than you think, and it’s more awesome than you expect.
Porcelain matches my skin color almost perfectly. It’s a light peach-y pale-white-girl-y matte eyeshadow. For me, this is going to be an extremely practical purchase.
Bog Body is a matte blue/green. I like it. I expected that it was going to change my life, which it didn’t, but I guess I can’t complain. My life has it’s ups and downs, but overall, it’s alright.
To my eyes, ossuary is a matte light brick color. It’s definitely not as pale as the website says, at least not on my skin. It’s more of a dark peach. And that’s fine, no complaints. Again, a very practical, everyday color for me.
Chimera (free sample) is absolutely stunning. It has a black base, so make sure you pat, don’t rub, otherwise, it’ll just look black, and then you’ll have missed out on this gorgeous color. This color is a dark copper-y color with a soft red/pink shift with red or copper sparkles (hard to tell).
I already have Hodor, so I didn’t swatch it again. But I wear it a lot, so I’ll need this new sample, eventually…
There you have it. Shiro order #2. Happy customer again.
