I don’t talk about My Pretty Zombie enough. I really don’t. I should, though. Andrea’s products are very high quality and unique. Some of my favorite all-time eyeshadows are MPZ – y’all know how much I love Brisket!!
In July, MPZ had an anniversary sale, celebrating 5 years in business! I have such a hard time resisting sales. Especially for a company I love AND a 33% off discount? Yeah, there’s no holding back.
So, I went a bit wild. I bought 3 full-size eyeshadows and about a billion samples. Sorry it took me like 6 years to get swatches up…
Anyway, onward to the swatches!
I picked up full-sizes in Celery & Bile, Brisket, and Everything’s Better on a Meat Hook. I already have swatches that I linked to for C&B and Brisket, but Meat Hook def deserves some attention. It’s a gorgeous maroon-y color with a green/blue shift. Photos below are first in indirect light and then direct sunlight. You can see that the shift looks blue in indirect light, but in the sun, it’s green. So, if you love Candied Apples from Femme Fatale, you WILL love this color. It’s very similar, but a bit deeper, so I think they’d work well together. Maybe I should do this soon.. Yes, good idea.
In this massive order, I also picked up about 12 samples total (including the free samples – scurvy and static), but I’ll share 5 today.
The first one I’m going to share is Baby May. I got this in a sample, though I wish I had picked up a larger size. It’s a beautiful color. This color is named after Andrea’s new little baby girl, and it’s lovely. It’s a cool blue-lavender with pink sparkles that really show up in the sunlight. I really do this this color. One thing to note, though, is that this color really needs a primer to shine.
I also picked up Unicorn Pee finally, too. This color is AH-MAZE-ING. It’s a super light blue-ish purple color to me (it wants to be white, but it has a tint of color to it) with a bajillion multi-colored sparkes. This color is gorge. Definitely works better with a glitter glue or something else to help it stick, bit it’s worth it.
Static was one of my free samples in this order. It’s a medium green-goldy color. I’ll be honest, I’m not in love with this color. It’s nice, but not super special to me. I think I have a good amount of dupes for this already in my collection.
The other free sample in the order was Scurvy, which is a dark, rusty salmon. This is a nice color, not super complex, but still nice. I don’t wear colors like this often, personally. But for the right person, this would be a nice addition to their collection.
The last color in this round of swatches is Epistaxis, a red. And I mean RED red. The site says “nosebleed red”, which is totally accurate. This is a matte, so you’ll notice that it looks horrible over glitter glue, so I tried to take photos of just the part over bare skin. That’s wear it really shines. I love this. Love love. Red is the color of love, so I suppose that’s fitting.
Stay tuned for Part 2!

I don’t have any MPZ (yet!) but these shadows look lovely!
P.S. I love your blog and it’s helped me a lot in my fall into the indie brand rabbit hole! I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award, more info here: https://swatchbible.wordpress.com/2015/09/21/liebster-award-a-k-a-about-the-blogger/
