Innocent + Twisted Alchemy Haul, Review, Splendor, Amazement

So, I have heard a lot about one of the indie companies out there, Innocent + Twisted Alchemy. So, I followed their Facebook page to see what it was all about. I’ve seen some lovely swatches out there, so I wanted to keep an eye on them.

Well, when they posted a 30% off Valentine’s Day sale, I jumped on it. I scoured the site for what I wanted to try, but honestly, there are just too many beautiful colors. So, I opted for 2 petite lucky bags, which are basically grab bags that include 5 different clamshells. But, I’ve been obsessed with a color that was in one of the previous subscription boxes, Amaranthine. So, when I put in my order, I asked if the owner wouldn’t mind making that one of the clamshells. But she did even better. She sent it to me as a bonus, so that I could try it. OH MY GOSH – SO HAPPY.

First, a word about the clamshells. I had no idea what to expect with these, but they actually seem to hold a good amount of eyeshadow. Each one was filled to the brim, so I certainly don’t feel cheated! Lots of uses out of each of these. Just a word to the wise, put a paper towel or something under them when you open them, especially when they are filled. I ended up with a bit of spillage, which made me sad. Luckily, once I got the hang out opening them, I spilled less and less (although still some).

Jam-packed clamshell!

The colors I got:

  • Deranged Passion
  • Spirit of the Moon
  • Grieving Flame
  • Lunatic
  • Evil Snowflakes
  • Amaranthine
  • Oops #3
  • Crinkled Satin
  • Lost in Despair
  • Winter Dawn
  • Pride

Deranged Passion – This is a beautiful rust color with some warm shimmers. Primer darkened it up a little, but without, it was still very pigmented. It’s a rusty brick red with copper and blue shimmers in it. Very unique combination, which I love. But still subtle and wearable. A nice mix.

Spirit of the Moon – This was a wow color for me. Literally, I opened the clamshell and said “wow!” out loud. All by myself in my house. No one around to hear me. “Wow.” Dark purple-y gray with  shimmers in many colors. Depending on how you look at this color in the light, it has a coppery shift. Absolutely gorgeous.

Grieving Flame – Gorgeous color. This is a lighter gray than Spirit of the Moon, and it has warmer shimmers in it. It almost feels like a soft purple gray. I love it. Very wearable, but still stunning.  When you look at it in different lighting, it has a bit of a peachy shift. Love it.

Lunatic – This is a very shimmery baby blue.  Without primer, it is a lot more subdued, but the simmers still abounds.

Evil Snowflakes – This is a bright white, punch you in the face with shimmers of so many colors, it’s hard to distinguish.

Amaranthine – This color makes me fall out of my chair. Really. I am in love. I knew I would love it, and I do!! Without primer, this is a nice matte-looking purple with some pink/bronze shimmers hidden throughout. But when you add the primer, BAM! It is deep purple, with that matte-feeling, but with just the right amount of shimmer to make it interesting. I am obsessed. And Linda is SO sweet! I’d asked that if possible, I’d like for this color to be included in one of my grab bags, since I am madly in love with it. So, what did she do? She sent it to me for FREE! Just because I love it so much. Thank you so much! I will definitely be ordering from you again!!

Anyway, back to the color. It’s beautiful. I think it might be a limited edition, since it was only for one of the month subscription boxes. So, you really need to go purchase this. Now. You can thank me later.

Oops #3 – I don’t know why this is an oops, but I love it! It surprisingly keeps most of its color without primer, although you do get a better sense of the beauty when you do have the primer there. But it’s a medium blue with green and red shimmers in it, maybe even a tiny bit of blue shimmers. It’s hard to tell. I don’t wear a lot of blue eyeshadows, but I need to start!

Crinkled Satin – This is a beautiful dusty purple color with blue and copper shimmers in it. Lovely!

Lost in Despair – This is a dark reddish taupe color with lots of personality. This is probably the most grown-up color of the bunch. It would be equally good at work and at play, so I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it. It has a bit o a blue sheen in different lighting, and has blue sparkles in it. Subtle, but beautiful.

Winter Dawn – This is a super light peachy orange color. Amazingly, without the primer, the color looks almost the same! Maybe thats because it almost matches my skin tone. It’s a bit of a darker peach than my skin,  but it’s lovely.

Pride – This is a very pigmented light yellow color. I don’t generally wear yellows, as they look terrible on me, but I’ll give it a try! It has a bit of a super subtle green sheen on it with the primer, but it’s still very yellow.

Would it be weird if I just left the swatches on my arm? They are just so beautiful, I don’t want to wash them off…Also, I loved them so much, I couldn’t even decide which arm swatch photo to use!
